The Methodist Hospital Diagnostic Clinic Implosion

In order to create a site for the new 1.6 million-sf Outpatient Center, Broaddus & Associates was first tasked with managing the decoupling and implosion of the 15-story Diagnostic Clinic and parking garages. The decoupling and preparation phase to relocate tenants, reroute utilities, remove exterior brick veneer, windows, and interior asbestos abatement lasted nine months and occurred in the midst of one of the busiest medical centers while they were performing on-going medical operations.

Prior to the demolition of the existing facility, utility services were separated and reinstalled to service the remaining West Pavilion Hospital. Existing tenants were relocated and then utilities had to be carefully disconnected and demolished.
