Georgetown ISD - High School Renovations & Additions

Georgetown High School is currently the primary high school in Georgetown, TX, and serves in excess of 2,000 students from 9th to 12th grades. On November 2, 2010, Georgetown ISD successfully passed a $137M bond program to continue its growth, while addressing facilities improvements. Through this bond program, the East View High School campus, which served 9th and 10th grades, was enlarged to serve grades 9 through 12, thereby reducing student enrollment at Georgetown High School to allow for future growth.

The 35-year-old Georgetown High School had been earmarked to receive significant additions and renovations to approximately 65% of the campus facilities. Broaddus & Associates was retained as project manager. Renovations included the classrooms, gymnasium, band hall, dressing rooms, and athletic training facilities. Additions included a new main entrance, administration offices, library, kitchen, and cafeteria.

Broaddus & Associates tracked the budget, monitored the schedule, reviewing the design documents for constructability and oversaw overall project quality. Broaddus & Associates encouraged both the owner and general contractor to carry appropriate contingencies within their budgets, to ensure successful project delivery. Furthermore, the project manager ensured that access was maintained to occupied portions of the campus, and that disruptions were minimized during construction.
