First Responder Facilities

City of Port Aransas | Public Safety Center

Broaddus & Associates is serving as owner’s representative to the City of Port Aransas for its ongoing disaster recovery efforts in response to Hurricane Harvey. This program includes repair, restoration and new construction for public safety facilities destroyed by the storm.

An important component to this effort has been identifying the needs of the facility for the city, which has approximately 3,000 residents but an average daily population of over 17,000 due to tourism (a number that is exponentially higher during peak holiday season).

Improvements to the new facility will include separate holding areas for juvenile and adult prisoners, secure access and hallways, and ADA compliance. The Nueces County circuit court, county constable’s office, and the city municipal court will also operate from the building once it is completed in 2024. Our team is deployed on site in Port Aransas during the assessment, design, and construction phases for the project.
