Disaster Recovery
City of Gulfport | Main Street Downtown Facade Program
Following Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi Development Authority awarded the City of Gulfport Community Development Block Grant funds for a downtown revitalization program. Broaddus & Associates provided program administration services for the beautification and restoration of more than 85 business façades along Main Street, making it the largest façade restoration program in the U.S. at the time.
Broaddus & Associates developed program guidelines, assisted with funding applications, administered grants, coordinated design and permitting, and managed procurement, budgeting, federal labor compliance, construction, and project closeout. The team supported Gulfport’s broader disaster recovery and downtown revitalization efforts.
