City of El Paso - El Paso Children's Museum & Science Center

Broaddus & Associates is serving as Project Manager for the El Paso Children’s Museum located in the heart of the city’s Downtown Arts District. The new museum will be approximately 70,000 SF and will house a variety of interactive displays and exhibits, as well as features such as child learning centers with interactive sound and wind tunnels and a 40-foot climbing wall.

Supported through a combination of public funds, private-sector contributions, and a Quality of Life Bond program approved by El Paso voters in 2012, the $65M project will be completed in 2021.  The master plan for the museum relied heavily on input from the community and educational institutions in the area.

El Paso’s Downtown Arts District welcomes 1.5M local, national and international visitors each year. It is home to the El Paso Museum of Art, the Museum of History, the only bilingual Holocaust museum in the country, artist lofts, award-winning performing arts venues, stadiums, a convention center, public art, festivals, green spaces, and more.

Working from our El Paso office, the dedicated Broaddus & Associates team is serving through the design and construction phases for the building project as well as the interior exhibits. As a value added to the Owner, Broaddus provided independent cost estimating services which came within less than $300K from the CMAR estimate during the Schematic Design phase.
