First Responder Facilities

City of Pass Christian | Police Station & Emergency Operations Center

Broaddus & Associates was selected by the City of Pass Christian to provide project management during the planning, programming, site selection, design, and construction of the police station and emergency operations center for the city. The building was designed to be multi-functional, and includes emergency operations, holding cells, meeting rooms, offices, storage rooms, a kitchen and break room, and restrooms.

The project’s funding sources include funds from FEMA public assistance, FEMA hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) under Section 404, and insurance. To receive funding from HMGP, the building was designed to FEMA-361 shelter standards and is able to withstand up to 200 mph winds as required for hurricane-prone coastal areas. In addition to structural considerations to meet FEMA 361 shelter standards, the police/EOC building is designed with redundant (backup) power, water, and sanitary sewer by means of a generator for emergency power, a well for potable water, and an underground holding tank for sewage.
