First Responder Facilities
Haltom City | Law Enforcement Center
Broaddus & Associates represented Haltom City as the Project Manager/Owner’s Representative for a new Law Enforcement Center. Working with city staff, our team developed a comprehensive master plan, program, and basis of design in three months. The accepted solution was the result of a cohesive continuum of team efforts from the owner, users, design builder and their designers all lead by Broaddus & Associates. From the start of programming, the planning efforts and subsequent design phase focused on a governmental building design that created a public design type for Haltom City to carry through to future city developments.
Understanding the current issues over project budgeting, the effort used cost detail in the planning phase to give the city the most value while controlling budget. During the planning phase Broaddus & Associates and the city staff took a proactive approach for finalizing pre-planning in advance to procurement for specialized systems, IT, audio visual, electronic equipment, and specialized furniture fixtures and equipment. Moving these critical selections earlier in the project assures comprehensive delivery for specialized services specific to the Police Department while supporting the police’s strong operational culture. The resulting design was within 200 SF of the original program which remained in budget and ahead of schedule.
