Forrest County Schools gets first safe room in the district
Oct 15, 2018

On Friday, the Forrest County School District inflated the dome of its first safe room in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Broaddus & Associates is serving as program manager for the construction of safe rooms on the 12 campuses of Forrest County School District and Petal School District. Because the two districts serve an area in Mississippi that has historically experienced severe weather, the new safe room program is being funded by FEMA, the Forrest County Board of Supervisors and the school districts. B&A Project Manager Gregg Kennedy represented the school district at the inflation, which is captured in a time-lapse video on the story by local news station WDAM-TV.
