UMC El Paso Hosts a Topping Out Ceremony
Apr 22, 2016

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) hosted a topping-out ceremony to showcase the progress of construction on its new Neighborhood Healthcare Center -- East. Broaddus & Associates is managing the construction of the $24 million, 42,200 SF clinic, which will provide affordable healthcare to the far east communities of El Paso. The clinic, which broke ground in October 2015, will include Primary and Specialty Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory and a retail Pharmacy. Rehabilitation Services services at the center will feature diagnosis, treatment and a rehabilitation gymnasium. Included in the construction are areas for MRI and CT scanning capabilities, which are being shelled-out to allow for future expansion.

UMC is an acute care teaching hospital and El Paso's only non-for-profit, community-owned hospital and healthcare system. UMC is also the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center. UMC works in conjunction with University Medical Center of El Paso Neighborhood Healthcare Centers, El Paso Children's Hospital, Texas Tech University, El Paso First Health Plans and the University Medical Center Foundation to bring a comprehensive healthcare system to the region. The clinic is part of UMC's $152 million bond program (for which Broaddus & Associates is serving as program manager), which includes over 1.55 million SF of construction.
